Experience Points(XP for short) are a staple of any RPG experience. McMMO allows players to accumulate them while performing daily tasks in Minecraft that would have otherwise gone unrewarded. McMMO doesn't use the in-game XP bar; instead, you simply gain levels in different skills to your overall player advancement (in the form of Power Level). If one manages to gain enough XP in a skill, the skill will level up and provide enhanced abilites. To get from level 0 to level 1 requires 1020 xp; every time a level is gained, the amount of xp needed for the next level is increased by 20.

To get from level n to n+1, the experience required is 1020+20n. To get from level a to level b, the experience required is 1020(b−a)+(b+a/2×b-a)+(bxp-axp), in which axp is the xp you already have on level a and bxpamount of xp extra you want on level b.The amount of xp needed to get from 0-1000 is 1,520,000.

Power Level

The power level number is the level of all your skills put together. There is currently no benefit to increasing your power level; however it may make you look more intimidating.

Gathering Skills

ExcavationEdit

Excavation is trained through digging dirt, grass block, clay, mycelium, gravel, snow, soul sand, or sand. Bonus XP is given whenever rare drops are given through the Excavation passive, Treasure Hunt.

HerbalismEdit

Herbalism is leveled by harvesting most types of crop. Wheat and sugarcane level herbalism very quickly, whereas others tend to go more slowly. See the herbalism page for more info.

Combat Based SkillsEdit

Leveling combat skills is a bit different than leveling gathering skills. The rate of XP earned differs between PvP and PvE interactions. It should also be noted that players will gain experience from neutral mobs such as Pigs or Sheep. The difference is that each mob has a set multiplier which determines the amount of XP given on each strike.

Note: On some servers, xp can be gained from using spawner mobs and mobs from spawn eggs, however, you should check with the server owner or staff member to make sure. Further, as of version 1.4.04, Wither, Enderdragon and Witches no longer grant any PVP skills due to their ability to regain health. On some servers, they still grant xp, usually if the mobGriefing rule is set to true, to stop the use of these mobs as grinders.

ArcheryEdit

As of versions for 1.6.4, there is bonus XP granted depending on how far the target is. 10m = ~+0.3%, 20m= ~+1.6%, 30m= ~+3.3%, 40m= ~+6.6%. Further testing is required to get a more accurate measure of Experience gained.

Miscellaneous SkillsEdit

AcrobaticsEdit

XP for Acrobatics is calcuated by how much damage the player takes after falling from a great height. For example, if you lose 5 hearts you have taken 10 HP fall damage after a jump with no graceful roll, then that damage will be applied to the formula below resulting in a gain of 1150 XP. You will also get XP on successful dodge maneuvers in combat.

Action Experience Value
No roll or regular roll Fall Damage in HP * 115
Graceful Landing/roll Fall Damage in HP * 80
Ender Pearl Nothing
Dodging ?

RepairEdit

10 XP is gained for every point of durability repaired using an McMMO anvil.

AlchemyEdit

XP for alchemy is gained from brewing potions. No matter what potion you brew the XP gain will be 120 XP per potion. Therefore 360 XP for a full brewing stand of 3 potions.
